The issue between national discus thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin and high jumper A. Nadee Alagan will be discussed and resolved when they meet today.
The two national athletes have revealed that they sent a letter to the National Sports Council (NSC) on the progress regarding their recent physical altercation and they are currently working it out between both of them.
“Last week, Nadee and I were asked to send letters and we’ve been doing it. We were then asked to meet with each other to solve this issue tomorrow (today)” he told Utusan Malaysia.
“This issue is expected to be resolved by tomorrow because there is nothing to be further discussed and it is better for us to put this episode behind and move on.”
Controversy erupted when SEA Games gold medalist Irfan was accused of knocking Alagan unconscious at the Malaysian National Sports Council hotel room.
Alagan filed a police report on Irfan’s assault and it immediately risked Irfan’s future within the national squad; something that he is frustrated with, particularly with the SEA Games coming soon.
“Honestly, this issue has disrupted my workout routine and I want this to end as soon as possible as there is no point arguing about it anymore.
“I have to give my full commitment for the upcoming SEA Games. I do not want any further disturbance.”
