Gary Steven Robbat will be based in Germany for the next three months after Johor DT announced a special arrangement to send the midfielder over to Borussia Dortmund.
The 22 year-old was snapped up by the Southern Tigers last year, though a contractual fiasco with Pahang and FAM saw him being slapped with a three months suspension recently.
He was officially barred from any football activities for three months, forcing him to train separately from the rest of the Johor DT squad. The Crown Prince of Johor consistently maintained that he would be backing Gary Steven up in any way possible, and it now appears that the Southern Tigers have secured a phenomenal opportunity for the young midfielder to train and and continue his development within the Dortmund set-up.
“Thanks to the collaboration between Johor Darul Ta’zim and Borussia Dortmund, Gary Steven Robbat will be heading to Germany to train with the German Giants,” a statement read on their official Facebook page.
“Gary, who has been suspended from all football activities under the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) jurisdiction for three months, will spend the entire duration of the suspension in Germany. We hope that Gary will use this opportunity to gain more exposure and experience, improve his game and contribute to JDT upon his return.”
