Crocs gunning for support from ’12th man’

Sarawak FA may have a brand new squad this season, but they are certainly aiming to impress and do well from the offset.

But while things may be new, the Crocs are hoping to retain something that has spurred them over the past few season; the terrific atmosphere on their home ground.

The Borneo-based side have always reveled in home games, with the support usually being massive, and as far as Sarawak FA President Datu Sudarsono Osman is concerned, he’s hoping to see more of that this season.

“We’re hoping to see the players fight for the fans,” he told Harian Metro.

“But at the same time, we want to see the fans flocking into the stadium as usual. Their support is much appreciated as the fans are the backbone of the team, being the ’12th’ man.”

Robert Alberts’s squad went through a recent revamp, with several key players from last season departing the club. Junior Eldstal and S. Chanturu have joined Johor DT, while Gabor Gyepes was released after picking up a severe injury.

That being said, they have equipped themselves with the addition of Billy Mehmet, Ivan Fatic, G. Mahathevan and even Nazri Kamal, in a bid to improve their standings in the Super League.
