Malaysian mixed doubles shuttlers Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei are through to the second round of the Malaysia Open after clinching a convincing victory over Indonesia’s Anggie Shitta Awanda and Mahadewi Istirani.
The 2013 Myanmar SEA games champions only took 34 minutes to defeat the Indonesian mixed doubles team 22-20, 21-12, sending the home crowd into raptures.
In the next round, Vivian and Won will be taking on Japan’s Naoko Fukuman and Kurumi Yanao, who are ranked 22nd in the world as of now.
On the other side of the news, Zulfadli Zulkifli defeated Indonesia’s Nathaniel Ernestan Sulistyo in just 29 minutes with a 21-8, 21-5 win, thus booking his spot in the next round, where he will be facing Liew Daren or Japan’s Takume Ueda.
