Pahang to wrap up pre-season preparations in Singapore

Pahang FA are currently in Singapore for their final pre-season trip, where they will undergo three friendly matches to prepare for the upcoming season of Malaysian football.

The War Elephants have been working hard over the last one month or so, and they even had a training camp in Hong Kong as well. But as far as coach Zainal Abidin is concerned, this trip to Singapore should be enough for him to decide on the starting eleven for the new season.

“I hope the next three friendly games will be enough to get my players’ fitness back to an optimum level for the new season,” Zainal told Harian Metro.

“I have a basic idea of the starting eleven already, but I don’t want to reveal it just yet as I want my men to give it everything throughout this Singapore trip.

“All I can say is that this trip will be our final preparation in shaping a solid team for the Charity Shield clash against Johor DT soon.”

Pahang will be playing against the Singapore Young Lions today, before taking on two S.League sides, including Hougang United, on Friday and Saturday.

They will head into the new season, bidding to retain all three titles that they lifted last year, including the prestigious Malaysia Cup.
