Novak Djokovic has been surprisingly knocked out of the Qatar Open by World No. 27, Ivo Karlovic.
Karlovic took two hours and 15 minutes, to secure a 6-7(2) 7-6(6) 6-4 victory over the Serbian despite playing under intense wind condition.
“I was feeling good despite the wind. I know he wasn’t able to show his full range.” Karlovic told BBC.
“I was relaxed and didn’t feel I had to do anything extraordinary. I just had to focus on my game.”
The Croatian will now advance to the Doha semi-finals, facing Spain’s David Ferrer who defeated world number 43 Dustin Brown with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
