The FIA has reduced the Formula One season to only 20 races in 2015; effectively dropping the Korean Grand Prix off the calendar.
Initially, the Korean Grand Prix was scheduled as the fifth race of the season before the competition switches attention towards the European league.
Speculations has it that the presence of the Korean Grand Prix was being used as a trick to allow engine manufacturers to push for a fifth engine. In usual regulations, each driver is limited to four power units per season.
However, each driver will be allowed to have five power engines if the calendar had more than 20 races.
Besides that, the FIA have also announced a new rule concerning the age of drivers. From 2016 onwards, only drivers above the age of 18 will be allowed to participate in Formula One, making it harder for inexperienced drivers to break into the scene, and thus increasing the overall safety of the competition.
