David Moyes claims that he is absolutely open to the idea of having Steven Gerrard play in Real Sociedad, should the midfielder show interest in plying his trade in Spain.
The experienced Gerrard announced his decision to depart Liverpool at the end of the season, drawing curtain on a scintillating 17 year-old career with The Kops. He did go on to say that he’ll be pursuing a team that would not be a direct competition towards Liverpool and as far as Moyes is concerned, he is certainly welcomed in Sociedad.
“He has had a great career for his club and for England and he will be very difficult to replace. If he ever wanted to come to play in Spain, he knows he can phone me,” the recently appointed Sociedad boss said.
Moyes experienced tremendous success with Everton in English football, before replacing Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester United in July 2013. He suffered a frustrating time at Old Trafford, with results hard to come by, before eventually being sacked by the management towards the end of the season.
He was then offered a full time job at Real Sociedad, who are currently battling relegation in La Liga.
