Kelantan FA and Terengganu FA have agreed to host a charity football match between both sides in a bid to raise funds and assist the mega number of flood victims within the East Coast.
Both states have been massively hit by floods over the past few weeks, and over 100,000 people have been evacuated throughout the region. Most of them have lost not only belongings but also their home and proceeds from this charity game will be directed towards helping their cause.
The match will be hosted at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium on the 13th of January, with kick off slated for 8.4
“Our main goal is to reduce the burden of people who have been victimized by the floods. And hopefully this is able to do exactly that,” Terengganu FA Vice President Marzuki Sulong said.
“Besides the match ticket, which will be RM15, we will also set aside a separate container for the fans to donate and assist the victims.
“That being said, this charity game will also help us prepare for the upcoming season of Malaysian football.
“Thus, we hope that fans will flood into stadiums, hopefully even fans from other teams. So at the end of the day, we’re able to help those in need.”
