Paris 2024 Olympics: Nur Dhabitah Sabri in diving finals to keep Malaysia’s hope of a 3rd medal alive

Nur Dhabitah Sabri, a national diver, made waves today in the women’s 3-meter springboard finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics to keep herself in the running for a medal.

Nur Dhabitah qualified for the finals, which are set for this Friday at 3 p.m. (9 p.m. Malaysian time), after placing eighth in the semi-finals at the Olympics Aquatics Centre here with 286.95 total points.

After the first dive, the 25-year-old had a great start, scoring 67.50 for inward 2 1/2 somersaults, placing him in second place.

She scored 55.50 and 46.50 points in the second and third rounds, respectively, but was unable to maintain the same momentum.

After earning unused quota points to qualify for the Olympics in Paris, Nur Dhabitah secured her spot in the finals with two dive scores of 57.00 and 60.45.

With 360.85 points, China’s Chen Yiwen won the semi-finals, ahead of Australia’s Kenny Maddison (334.70) and Italy’s Chiara Pellacani (324.75).

Nur Dhabitah, who placed 12th with 283.65 points in yesterday’s preliminary round, advanced to the top 18 semi-finals.
