Joao Palhinha, a midfield player for Fulham, will join Bayern Munich for a possible transfer fee of up to £47.4 million.
The Portugal midfielder will cost Bayern £43.2 million at signing, plus a further £4.2 million in add-ons, from Fulham. Fulham will be selling for a club record with this transfer.
According to Sky Germany, Palhinha will agree to a four-year contract at the Allianz Arena and postpone having a medical examination until after Portugal’s Euro 2024 campaign is over.
On Friday in Hamburg, the 2016 winners take on France in the quarterfinals.
Palhinha left Sporting Lisbon in 2022 to sign with Fulham, and the two were on the verge of joining Bayern last summer, but the deal fell through on Transfer Deadline Day when Fulham was unable to find a substitute in time.
The Portugal midfielder was granted permission by Fulham to travel to Germany for a medical examination.
Barcelona and Manchester United were also interested, but Bayern maintained their interest and had another offer turned down earlier this summer. In July of last year, Fulham declined a £45 million approach from West Ham.
