Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal is already setting his sights on kick starting 2015 on a positive note, as he returned to training recently to start preparation for the upcoming Australian Open
Nadal endured a torrid 2014, where his form was plagued by injuries all year-long. He recently went through surgery for appendicitis, but according to the man himself, things are on the right track.
“The operation on my appendix was good. No problems at all,” Nadal said. “I am able to practice for a lot of hours at a high intensity. After five months of pain, that’s important to me.”
“The main thing for me is I am able to work hard in these next weeks,” he said.
Nadal made the Australian Open final earlier this year, but struggled against Stanislas Wawrinka due to a bank injury. He then suffered a 4th round exit against junior tennis player Nick Kyrgios at Wimbledon, with a wrist injury affecting him at that point.
However, the Spaniard will not be hoping to revenge for his defeat to Wawrinka, by pushing harder in the 2015 Australian Open, which is set to take place next month.
