Coach Zainal Abidin: It’s do or die against PKNS tonight

Going into the 7 month of the Super League and having played 14 matches, Penang remains perched at the bottom of the Super League table with 6 points.

The Panthers have managed only one draw in their last five games, and lost the remaining four. Even with a new coach on board, Penang has failed to turn things around for them.

Penang’s match against PKNS tonight at the Batu Kawan stadium is an absolutely crucial one if they want to avoid relegation to the Premier League.

If they fail to clinch three points, and assuming Melaka win against Kedah tonight, it will be almost impossible for Penang to make up for the 9-point gap.

Assuming Melaka lose tonight’s match, and if Penang managed to hold PKNS to a draw, the gap between the two teams will be five points, and that is much easier for the Panthers to catch up on.

Penang’s head coach, Zainal Abidin Hassan is aware of their dangerous position, and so he has prepared him team to go in for a do-or-die clash against PKNS tonight.

“PKNS is a strong and experienced team. We have four import players who are ready with an eager squad to take on PKNS tonight.” coach Zainal told Berita Harian.

“That is why we will have all four imports playing at against PKNS — Mark Hartmann, Brandon McDonald, Nigel Dabinyaba, and Sanna Nyasi will all be playing tonight, so we’re hoping for good result.” the coach added.

“I’m confident that the players will give it their all to secure a win at home. This match, and all the following matches are important to us.” said the coach, who also urged fans to fill up the stadium tonight to encourage the Panthers to win.

Good luck, Penang!
