Johor Darul Ta’zim have announced that their Argentine-Iraqi forward, Brian Ferreira, has left the club to join the Ecuadorian Premier League.
Ferreira will be playing for Fuerza Amarilla FC, a club in Ecuador’s Serie A, which is the top league in Ecuador.
“Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) have created history once again after selling Brian Ferreira, 23, to Fuerza Amarilla SC, a club playing in the Ecuadorian Premier League.” a statement released by Johor Darul Ta’zim read.
“It shows that overseas clubs are aware of and follow JDT’s development. JDT have created history by selling not only one player but two players, Martin Lucero and Brian Ferreira, to overseas clubs.”
Brian Ferreira joined JDT earlier this year to help bolster their squad ahead of their 2017 Super League campaign.
However, the 23-year-old has not performed up to the club’s expectations, which led to Ferreira being benched for the last few months.
JDT have also snapped up two new players in the transfer window, Mohammed Ghaddar from Kelantan, and Natxo Insa from Levante.
