The Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) yesterday announced that Kelantan FA’s docked points will be reduced from six to three, following an appeal.
The decision was made after a careful deliberation by FMLLP, upon assessing all the pending documents submitted by Kelantan FA.
The Red Warriors also had to provide a detailed plan as to how and when will they pay up all pending wages to former players and coaches.
However, transfer ban on Kelantan will remain, as they have yet to meet certain criteria and requirements set by FMLLP in order to get the transfer ban lifted.
FMLLP imposed the transfer ban on The Red Warriors after the club was pelted with numerous complaints and accusations about unpaid wages by former players and staffs.
“Yes, we have read the statement by FMLLP about our appeals. We realise that our request to allow the registration of French forward L´Imam Seydi has been rejected.” Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah, Kelantan’s acting president said.
According to the president, this decision will not dishearten Kelantan, instead they will keep trying until L´Imam Seydi’s registration is approved by FMLLP.
“We hope FMLLP can clarify us on the terms and how we can solve this problem. Whatever documents or procedures we’re missing or didn’t follow, we’ll follow through immediately.” the president told Bharian.
“At the same time, we’re also working hard to solve other issues like the pending wages, KWSP, PERKESO, LHDN, and anything else that FMLLP needs us to do. We have until 31st of October to do it.” the president added.
Kelantan FA was allowed to sign Abou Bakr al Mel from Lebanon during the transfer window, after their star striker Mohamad Ghaddar left the club to join Johor Darul Ta’zim. They also went on to sign Frenchman L´Imam Seydi in spite of the transfer ban imposed on the club.
So while L´Imam Seydi has been signed, he is not allowed to be registered under Kelantan FA, and will not be able to play in the Super League.
