Johor Darul Ta’zim FC President Tunku Tun Aminah Sultan Ibrahim has called for her brother, Tunku Ismail, to come home to Johor since he is “not appreciated”.
Tunku Ismail, the president of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), was pelted with criticism after Malaysia lost 2-1 to Lebanon in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers fixture at the Larkin.
The fixture was Malaysia national football team’s first match under the newly appointed FAM president, and newly appointed head coach, Nelo Vingada. Tunku Aminah, who is unhappy with all the criticisms directed at her brother, took to Facebook to call him home.
“I hope HRH Crown Prince of Johor doesn’t stay too long as the President of FAM. It’s better to serve and contribute where you are appreciated and loved. Don’t stay there for too long, and it’s better for you to come home rather staying there where you are not being appreciated.” the Princess of Johor said in a statement.
“Although Johor Darul Ta’zim are already at a high level, guide them to a higher level and put all your focus on Johor, where people appreciate and love you.”
Although some fans were onboard with her, not everyone agreed with Tunku Aminah’s statement. Fans urged the Crown Prince to persevere and prove his haters wrong instead of just giving up, as they still believed TMJ’s leadership.
