A Malaysian athlete is in the spotlight again for a doping scandal, only this time around its not Lee Chong Wei.
Wushu’s international governing body has banned Malaysia’s Tai Cheau Xuen from competing for four months until March 20th 2015, after the banned stimulant sibutramine was found in her system during a doping test at the recent Asian Games.
The Wushu Federation of Malaysia however insists that she had unknowingly ingested the drug via healh supplements and from a slimming product she was taking.
Tai has since returned the gold medal she won during that very same tournament.
