Ever since news about the legendary Karl Heinz Weigang hit the radar, social media has been flooding with messages and heartfelt tributes from football fans, players, and sports icons.
Amongst Weigang’s colossal contributions to Malaysian football, his most notable achievement would be leading Malaysia to the 1980 Olympic Games.
Weigang also boasts an extensive coaching track record, with over 50 years of coaching experience, ranging from teams in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Ghana, and more.
His last game as a coach was with Perak FA, where he guided the Bos Gaurus to a 2-1 win over reigning Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim.
