Thailand’s young golfers take the lead in Kids World Champ’ship

The young golfers of Thailand are hitting impressive strides at the ongoing Kids Golf World Championship in Johor, dominating eight out of the 15 age-group categories that are being contested.

Ratchanon Chantananuwat (Boys 7 years), Supapon Amornchaichan (Boys 8), Pongsapak Laopakdee (Boys 9), Vanchai Luangnitikul (Boys 12), Chutimon Rujiranan (Girls 8), Natachanook Tunwannarux (Girls 9), Kwankamon Meesomboon (Girls 11) and Sitanun Jonglikit (Girls 13-14) caught the eye of everyone with impressive finishes on day one of the competition, thus leading their respective age groups.

Two Malaysian golfers also have the limelight on them, with Zulaikah Nurziana Nasser (Girls 12) and Muhammad Iqbal Shaharudin (Boys 15-18) way ahead in their age groups.

The three-day event ends on Thursday and on Friday a Ryder Cup style Malaysia vs Rest of the World event competed by players who excelled in the tournament will be held.

The Kids Golf World Championship has been held in Malaysia for three years in a row. It is presented by US Kids Golf in partnership with Royal Sporting House (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and the entire tournament is also managed by Concept Collaboration Sdn Bhd.
