Just when you thought the saga involving Kelantan FA could not get any more twisted, Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman has stoked the fire by publicly refuting the allegation that she owes KAFA money from their sponsorship deal last year.
According to a report by Harian Metro, Datuk Vida, as she is fondly known, insists that she had fulfilled her commitment of investing RM8 million into Kelantan, as per the contractual agreement that was signed.
“I’d like to respond to allegations on social media that claim I owe KAFA sponsorship money from last year. I’m enraged by these allegations,” she was quoted as saying by Metro.
She went on to even claim that Kelantan players were paid on time throughout 2016 and that no one should accuse her of not fulfilling contractual obligations.
This comes after Kelantan were docked six points for unpaid wages, earlier this week. Football Malaysia LLP’s decision to do so did not go down too well with KAFA supremo Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who insinuated that Kelantan’s financial struggles were partially down to the inability of several sponsors to fulfill their contractual obligations.
