The transfer window is around the corner and Malaysian Super League teams are chasing down import players to bolster their squad before the second half of the league kicks off.
Kelantan FA (KAFA) is no exception. Amidst all their financial fiasco, KAFA adviser Tan Sri Annuar Musa has confirmed that they have signed two new imports to beef up both the squad and the training department.
The two imports are Alfredo Gonzales from Uruguay and Sanna Nyassi from Gambia.
“Alfredo Gonzales will become the Technical Director and assist head coach Zahasmi Ismail.” Bernama quoted Tan Sri Annuar Musa as saying.
“Sanna Nyassi has been registered as a striker to replace Alessandro Celin when the second registration window opens in mid-May.” he added.
Sanna Nyasi is a winger who used to feature the MLS outfit San Jose Earthquakes, where he netted a total of 2 goals in 28 appearances.
Prior to that, he played for Chicago Fire, where he scored one goal in 10 appearances.
However, Nyasi’s signing will be officially confirmed only after he has undergone and passed KAFA’s medical and fitness test.
According to Annuar Musa, Celin’s contract termination will be done via negotiation and it will not incur The Red Warriors any additional cost.
The Brazilian forward signed with KAFA in January this year to replace Okiki Afolabi who failed the club’s medical test. The 27-year old has made 3 appearances for Kelantan, but hasn’t managed to rake in a goal thus far.
