“Do not support us if you cannot accept defeat! – TMJ tells JDT fans

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim has expressed his disappointment at the Johor fans who have been constantly criticizing him.

The Crown Prince of Johor (TMJ) was adamant to remind his people that he was the one who ‘woke up’ the state of Johor and brought them trophies after going 24 years without one.

“We decreased our budget this year, cut down on our spending and lost two trophies so far (Charity Shield and FA Cup), but what is the problem?”, he said as quoted by Sinar Harian.

“The fans have started to complain about our progress this season but I can say that we are currently first in the league, made it to the quarter-final of the FA Cup and competed in the Charity Shield, where no other team did compete for the trophy this season.

In addition, he also mentioned that The Southern Tigers have an impressive chance of qualifying for the knockout round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

“I am honestly very surprised with the attitude of the Johor fans with this season. I do not care if we end the season trophyless because I will still proud to be a Johorian.

“We are still the most popular club in the country, and one of the most in Asia. We have 1.7 million supporters to date and the numbers will continue to increase along the years.

“I will always love Johor and in football, you win and you lose, but you still have to stand by your team. Do not support us if you cannot accept defeat,” Tunku Ismail concluded.
