Kelantan’s head coach Zahasmi Ismail has a theory why Kelantan lost 3-2 to Johor Darul Ta’zim in the much anticipated Super League fixture last night.
Johor Darul Ta’zim netted three goals at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV thanks to Safiq Rahim, Gabriel Guerra, and Gonzalo Cabrera.
Kelantan’s star player Muhamad Ghaddar tried his level best to lift Kelantan, but his brace was outclassed by the Southern Tigers who were determined to bag 3 points that night.
Kelantan’s head coach Zahasmi Ismail blames the defeat on referee, Md Nazmi Nasaruddin. Zahasmi said that his players felt dispirited after Johor Darul Ta’zim were awarded a penalty at the 29th minute.
“That’s when it all went downhill. My players were demoralised by that decision.”
“As a coach, I have observed that the referee’s decision can make or break the game. The referee made some faulty calls during the match, and that affected my team’s performance last night.” Zahasmi told Harian Metro.
A frustrated Zahasmi Ismail also added that the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) will deliberate about sending the match video to FAM to be reviewed.
“We might send a video to FAM so they can watch and review the penalty that was awarded to JDT. We want FAM to tell us if the referee made the right decision that night.”
“I’m aware that the decision is most probably irreversible. Perhaps we can learn something from this.” he added.
Kelantan’s defeat hoisted Johor Darul Ta’zim to the top of the table, as they garnered 3 points to make their total of 20 points. Kelantan is sitting on the 6th rung with 12 points on their side.
