Here’s why 11 Super League teams could face relegation in October

Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam has revealed that at least eleven Super League teams have yet to obtain their club license.

If these eleven Super League teams fail to obtain their license by October, they could face relegation to the Premier League, he warned.

According to FMLLP Chief Executive Officer Kevin Ramalingam, only Johor Darul Ta’zim have met the requirements set by FMLLP.

The remaining eleven clubs, however, have completed between 60 – 80 percent of the procedures to obtain the club license. There are also a few clubs, which he did not name, that seem to be taking the matter very lightly.

However, Kevin Ramalingam declined to the name of teams that seem disinterested to apply for the club licence.

“Only a few team are still seen as taking it easy on the matter — which is our initiative to empower the quality of the Malaysia League.” he told Bernama.

This rule is being enforced to ensure that the target to privatise the league can be achieved by next year.

The CEO of FMLLP also urged all the teams to take this rule seriously, or they will have to face the consequences.

However, if teams fail to obtain their club license by October, they can still submit their appeal to FMLLP for a temporary license.
