Johor DT owner Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim held an open discussion with fans last night, after the Southern Tigers’s disappointing 0-0 draw against Selangor.
The reigning Malaysia Super League champions struggled to break down a cohesive Selangor side and the introduction of Gabriel Guerra barely had an effect. Fans were visibly frustrated after the final whistle and a large chunk of them took to Facebook and Twitter to vent their frustration.
Kepada seluruh penyokong JDt anda semua dijemput hadir ke Istana Bukit Pelangi pada malam ini juga untuk menyuarakan ketidakpuasan hati.

Johor DT responded by issuing a statement after the game, inviting unhappy fans to the Bukit Pelangi Palace. They went on to claim that Tunku Ismail was ready to address their concerns about the team’s performance as well as Benjamin Mora’s position within the club.
The meeting eventually took place in the wee hours of the night as TMJ, accompanied by Benjamin Mora and JDT’s Sports Director, Alistair Edwards, spoke to the fans about the club’s long-term plans.
According to fans present at the discussion last night, TMJ also backed Mora by insisting that his coaching methods will translate into positive results, sooner rather than later. Besides that, TMJ also hinted at the possibility of there being significant changes to the team, when the mid-season transfer window opens in June.
It remains to be seen if the discussion will effectively curb the growing level of unrest amongst JDT fans. The Southern Tigers have only won one match in 2017 – their 3-1 victory over Felda United last month. They did go on to beat Bangkok United on penalties after that, before being completely outclassed by Gamba Osaka last Tuesday.
