An FAM affiliate, who wanted to remain anonymous, has revealed to Harian Metro a part of what was said during the audience with Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, earlier this week.
The affiliate, who also attended the meeting, said that Sultan Ibrahim told them if they want to support TMJ, they shouldn’t betray him at all. In fact, the Johor ruler reminded everyone about it at least three times during the meeting.
“’I know a lot of the politicians’ games. If you really want to support, support him wholeheartedly’, the Sultan Johor said to us all who attended the meeting,” the affiliate said.
The outcome of the meeting was that Sultan Ibrahim has given permission for Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail to accept the nomination and run for the FAM President after discussing with the 14 FAM affiliates. The affiliates representing Pulau Pinang, Perak, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) did not attend the meeting.
However, TMJ has not confirmed his nomination, alongside the Youth & Sports minister, Khairy Jamaluddin and the chairman of FAM’s Integrity Committee, Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat.
Kelantan FA advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa is the only candidate who has accepted his nomination thus far.
