Rafael Nadal has resumed training for the first time since his appendix operation.
The French Open Champion was forced to cut his season short and miss the ATP World Tour Finals in London in order to undergo the procedure last month.
He has however confirmed plans to participate in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, and has now begun preparations for his first match on January 2nd, 2015.
Nadal posted a picture of his return to training on Facebook, with a caption: “Very happy to be training again and excited to prepare the next season.”
Following the tournament in Abu Dhabi, Nadal hopes to play in Doha the following week before the start of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year.
