The Selangor Football Association (FAS) hopes that Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and team manager, Amirudin Shari will not forsake their responsibilities after announcing their resignation.
Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Amirudin Shari both announced their resignation from FAS on December 30th.
However, the duo are both still expected to settle the football player’s salaries and bonuses, which has been pending since November. They have also yet to pay the coach’s salary.
So far, FAS has not received any official statement from the duo regarding the financial issue. FAS secretary general Rosman Ibrahim has attempted to meet the duo, but no to avail.
“FAS will only hold a special exco meeting to discuss the matter after receiving their letters. The players have also issued statements demanding the settlement of their salary.
“FAS also hope that the issue of salary for former head coach, Zainal Abidin Hassan who was sacked by Amirudin via an SMS without proper channel and black-and-white, will be solved,” he said in a statement.
Rosman Ibrahim also made it clear that both Datuk Seri Azmin and Amirudin were directly involved in the team management as he brushed off several accusations directed at FAS.
Selangor will be playing their first Super League match against Penang on 21st January at the Selayang Municipal Council. The team is being groomed under new coach, P.Maniam, manager Abdul Rauf Ahmad, and his assistant Omar Ali.
