Sarawak FA are reportedly monitoring the possibility of signing Philippines international Mark Hartmann, in a bid to strengthen their team for the 2017 Malaysia Super League season.
The Crocs brought Hartmann over for a trial session last week and the English-born striker caught their attention instantly, according to a source close to the club. That said, nothing has been set in stone, just yet.
“Hartmann impressed the coaches and he did well. But everything is still in the early stages, to be honest. Negotiations are still ongoing and the player also needs to pass a medical before everything can be confirmed. Until then, anything can happen,” the source revealed.
The 24 year-old forward started his career in England, featuring for the youth outfits of Southampton, Portsmouth and Swindon Town, before joining Blackfield & Langley FC. He eventually left for the Philippines, where he was snapped up by Manila Nomads in 2011. Shortly after that, he joined Loyola Meralco Sparks, before eventually signing Global FC in 2013.
After spending three years there, Hartmann signed a short-term deal with S.League outfit Geylang International in June 2016. He went on to score eight goals in 11 appearances, before representing The Azkals at the group stages of the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup.
