Jean-Eric Vergne confirms that he will not be partnering Dutch rookie Max Verstappen at Toro Rosso in 2015.
Despite a good season & 22 pts, I'll not drive anymore for Toro Rosso in 2015. Thanks for those years. Let's go for another big challenge.
— Jean-Eric Vergne (@JeanEricVergne) November 26, 2014
Vergne, who has driven for the Italian team since graduating to Formula One racing via the Red Bull young driver programme in 2012, made the announcement on his official Twitter account.
The 24 year old has finished 17th, 15th and 13th overall in his three seasons to date.
One of the favourites to replace Vergne at Toro Rosso is recently-crowned Formula Renault 3.5 champion, Carlos Sainz Junior, having tested for Red Bull at this week’s test in Abu Dhabi.
