Caterham are talking to a potential buyer, and could be back in business within weeks.
“The big elephant in the room is always the buyer, but I am honestly talking to somebody who would like to take this over within the next month,” said the stricken Formula One team’s administrator, Finbarr O’Connell.
“They’d like to take it over with the same people, as the same team with the same infrastructure, and that would be the dream result for me. It would be absolutely fantastic.”
O’Connell however refused to name the interested party, but hinted that it was someone linked to the sport.
He adds that several other parties were also interested, though it was more in the factory and facilities, or perhaps looking to enter Formula One further down the line.
Despite their administrative problems, the outfit still competed in the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi after missing the previous two Grand Prixs, thanks to money raised though an online rowd funding initiative.
Caterham stopped work on their 2015 car last month, and their staff have been made redundant since then.
