Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) goalkeeper Izham Tarmizi Roslan believes that it’s crucial for them to forget about Bengaluru’s home advantage and focus on clinching a win, when they face each other at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday night.
Izham does not deny that it will be an arduous task, especially since the Blues have looked competent on home soil, under the tutelage of Albert Roca. Moreover, the Southern Tigers will also be without the services of Amri Yahya, Jorge Diaz and Juan Martin Lucero – all of whom are suspended for the match.
But the shot-stopper insists that they have enough quality to see off Bengaluru, provided they remain focused on the task at hand.
“We wasted a good chance, by drawing the first leg 1-1. That means the second leg will be tricky for us. But we must look beyond their home advantage and instead put up a good fight to ensure we get into the final,” he told Harian Metro.
“We’ve been analysing Bengaluru’s game for the past few weeks, especially their performance in the first leg. So hopefully we’re able to contain their threat and spring a surprise of our own.
“We’ve also been training well under Mario Gomez, so I’d say we’re ready for this Wednesday’s game,” he enthused.
Izham is likely to start the match, while Safee Sali is expected to lead JDT’s line-up, in the absence of their Argentine duo, Diaz and Lucero.
