The 29th edition of the Southeast Asian Games received a massive financial boost from MILO after the nation’s favourite chocolate drink brand agreed to a RM7 million sponsorship.
The sponsorship also includes the funding of the 9th edition of the ASEAN Para Games.
MILO vowed to provide all the support in order to maximize the full potential of the upcoming SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur by working together with the organising committee (MASOC).
The deal was signed by MILO last night and it was witnessed by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, MASOC CEO Datuk Seri Zolkples Embong, MILO Business Executive Manager Philomena Tan and Chief Secretary Minister Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.
“MILO agreed to sponsor RM700,000 cash, RM500,000 of products and more than RM6 million in advertising and marketing,” Khairy Jamaluddin said as quoted by Harian Metro.
According to the Youth and Sports Minister, MILO also offered to visit more than 7,000 schools in an effort to promote Kuala Lumpur 2017, which will benefit 2.6 million students.
“They will also put our logo on their products and organize a number of sporting events.”
