Squash prodigy Eain Yow becomes second Malaysian to clinch World Junior title

National youth squash player, Ng Eain Yow captured the World Junior Championship title after defeating Egypt’s Saadeldin Abouaish in Poland, earlier this morning.

The second seed player put up a splendid performance to dispatch his top seed opponent 11-3, 9-11, 11-7, and 11-5 in the 54-minute match, according to the tournament website.

It was virtually an upset but Eain Yow won’t care as he redeemed his semi-final loss in the same competition in Netherlands, last year.

For the record, the world no. 144 player became only the second national player to achieve the feat after Ong Beng Hee’s success in 1998.

Eain Yow will now lead the national squad in the team event later today, where Malaysia is drawn against South Africa, Spain and the United States in Group F.
