TMJ declares victory over FAM in long-standing ‘battle’

Johor Crown Prince, Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim has confirmed that there has been a significant breakthrough in his bid to help rejuvenate Malaysian football thoroughly.

TMJ, as he’s fondly known, revealed that every Exco member within FAM has agreed to resign and leave the organization, joining in the footsteps of outgoing president, Tengku Abdullah.

Speaking through a statement that was released on Johor Southern Tigers’ official Facebook page, TMJ said: “This young man has had to fight the FAM system, policitians and  ignorant local football fans. Today, the FAM Exco members have officially agreed to retire and leave together with the president.

“Fresh elections would be held soon and new faces would be appointed to run the local football scene. Foreign experts will also be hired to improve the system.

“I’m proud to say that that a young man who really loves Malaysian football has officially defeated a 30-year old regime inside FAM. As I’ve said before, I will destroy everything they’ve built, build everything back from scratch and make it better,” he added.

This comes as a major breakthrough after days of tense negotiations between FAM officials,  Youth and Sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin, as well as TMJ himself. The JDT supremo also confirmed that Khairy had encouraged him to takeover as FAM president – something he’s unwilling to do for one clear reason.

“Recently, YB Khairy encouraged me to become the next FAM President. But I don’t agree with that idea because I have JDT. There will definitely be a conflict of interest because I’ll be biased towards Johor.

“As I’ve said plenty of times in the past, we need to get a candidate that doesn’t have any ties or attachments to teams and clubs within the country,” he added.
