Kuantan FA team manager Wan Solihi Wan Hassan has expressed his disappointment with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for their lack of communication regarding the decision to suspend the club’s head coach.
According to Wan Solihi, they have made a few appeals to reduce the seven-month suspension period of Zulhamizan Zakaria, but their requests have been denied by the national football governing body.
“Zulhamizan’s seven-month suspension period is a bit too lengthy and we have appealed several times to reduce the severity of the punishment.
“Unfortunately, FAM has not given us a response and we are stuck in a predicament as we have to issue Zulhamizan’s salary even though he is suspended.
“At the same time, we can’t replace him with a new coach since FAM can’t give us a conclusive decision regarding the appeals,” he told Utusan Online.
FAM has suspended Zulhamaizan via its disciplinary committee on March, following the coach’s use of offensive language and obscene hand signs to the referee during the Premier League game between Kuantan FA and UiTM FC, and the FA Cup match against Perak.
