There are many notorious daredevils that do extreme acts around the world, namely the real life Spider-man that climbs famous skyscrapers without any safety features, but skydiver Luke Aikins might top the lot after his adventurous attempt yesterday.
The 42-year-old became the first person to jump from an altitude of 25,000 feet without a parachute, before landing onto a safety net in California.
The outrageous stunt was broadcasted on live television and stands were set up to accommodate the crowd who cheered on Aikins throughout his dive.
“Aikins’ leap represents the culmination of a 26-year career that will set a personal and world record for the highest jump without a parachute or wing suit,” said his spokesman Justin Aclin.
The broadcast showed Aikins jumped out of a propeller plane in a bright green outfit alongside three parachutists.
He made his way down before being isolated as the other skydivers opened their chutes.
The Texan skydiver can only rely on the lights that were set along the net as a guide, and he safely landed on his back to the jubilation of his family and the watching crowd.
