David Beckham’s oldest son, Brooklyn, is said to have snubbed Manchester United and Chelsea to sign his first professional contract with Arsenal.
According to reports, the 15 year old agreed on a one-year deal for the remainder of the 2014-2015 season, with a further extension being mooted for consideration, should he progress well at the club.
While his father, David, has always been a global icon at rival club Man United, the Beckham boys have always been a part of the Gunners youth setup for years now.
Romeo Beckham is a member of the Arsenal U13s, while Cruz Beckham plays for the U10s. In addition, David had also trained with the Gunners two summers ago to maintain his fitness before signing with Paris Saint-Germain.
A source for Arsenal has also bashed rumours claiming he only got the contract because of his last name, telling a UK-based daily that he is “talented, and has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played”.
“Brooklyn really has potential. Wenger was impressed with his talent, his attitude and his drive to succeed.” said the unnamed source.
