It will be extremely interesting to see if the stories of dressing room unrest inside the Belgian camp manifest themselves on the pitch in Bordeaux.
The Irish deserved at the very least the point they secured in their Group E opener against Sweden and will fancy their chances of getting something from this one especially if the Belgian players are beginning to have doubts about the tactical nous of Marc Wilmots.
When a group of players think their own CV is superior to their coach’s and things start to go wrong it rarely ends well. It is though difficult to see how such a talent laden squad can fail to score once again and with the Irish ready to capitalize on any disharmony in the ranks, we may see more than the benchmark 2.5 goals in this one.
