Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) have decided to make Selangor and Malaysia wing-back Mohd Azrif Nasrulhaq their primary target when the transfer window opens next season.
According to Azrif Nasrulhaq’s father, he wants his son to make a move to the two-time Malaysia Super League (MSL) champions as soon as the current season comes to an end.
“His (Azrif) contract with Selangor ends next year but his father is willing to end the contract to ensure that his son plays for Johor DT,” a source said as quoted by JDT Southern Tigers.
“He (Badrul Hisham) met up with representatives on Monday to discuss his son’s future.”
The father is currently in talks with the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) and he is negotiating a deal with them that will allow him to buy out his son’s contract, which is worth RM720,000. However, the amount is minimal compared to what Azrif will earn with the Johor-based club because he is expected to earn a salary of more than RM55,000 a month plus winning bonuses and will be guaranteed a spot in the starting eleven.
Azrif Nasrulhaq sparked interest in January when he posted an image on his Instagram account apologizing to the Selangor fans, which lead to an offer made by Johor Darul Ta’azim. Unfortunately, the reigning FA Cup winners were unaware that he was contracted with The Red Giants and immediately retracted their offer and apologized to the club as well.
