Young Boys fell to a crushing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli, with Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman being the star of the day. The ex-Swansea midfielder scored the opening goal of the game, deep into injury time in the first half, before adding another on the 65th minute mark. On the 83rd minute, De Guzman found the back of the net again, to complete a stunning hat rick, which also caps off a stellar performance.

Tottenham Hotspur secured a 2-1 win against Asteras, which significantly boosted their hopes of making it to the knockout stages. Andros Townsend opened the scoring for them with a spot kick on the 36th minute mark, before Harry Kane continued his hot goalscoring form by firing their second goal just before the break. Spurs continued to dominate, though Asteras managed to pull one back at the death, to make it 2-1.
3 – Phil Jagielka has now equalled his best-ever goal haul in a season for Everton (in all comps), matching his total from 2012/13. Potent.

Meanwhile, Everton are only one point away from qualification into the knockout stages, after their impressive 3-0 win over French side, Lille yesterday. Leon Osman fired home on the 27th minute, with Jagielka putting them in a comfortable driving seat just before half time, with their second goal. Naismith added a third on the hour’s mark, completing a rather comfortable win for Roberto Martinez’ men.
