The La Liga (Spanish League) have agreed a sponsorship deal with Tourism Malaysia to promote the tourism sector of this country during league matches next season onwards.
According to the La Liga official website, the agreement was signed by a representative from La Liga, Tourism Malaysia and MediaPro (La Liga media) and the partnership is expected to receive brand exposure in over 20 countries with approximately 200 million total viewership.
Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab said that the sponsorship is a way of promoting the tourism sector in Malaysia, mainly in the Asian region.
“La Liga is the best football league in the world and it has the biggest groups of supporters in all of Asia. This partnership will give Malaysia great exposure and we are excited to be associated with the brand,” Mirza Mohammad Taiyab said as quoted by Sinar Harian.
“This relationship will attract the interest of fans in Asia, especially La Liga supporters, to consider Malaysia as their next holiday destination and experience all that we have to offer.”
Tourism Malaysia have previously sponsored UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla in 2014, which saw them facing of 33-time Malaysia Cup champions Selangor in the same year.
