The Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) have officially parted ways with Amiridwan Taj after terminating his contract because of a serious knee injury suffered early this year.
Amiridwan Taj signed for Terengganu in December after spending half a season with his hometown club Kelantan. However, he had no choice but to leave The Red Warriors at the end of the year because his salary was not paid to him and still has not been paid until today.
The 30 year-old joined The Turtles for a change of luck but he has been hampered with injuries all season long and PBSNT decided it would be best for both parties if he left.
“We terminated Amiridwan’s contract because he is unable to feature in the second half of the season,” PBSNT president Datuk Wan Ahmad Nizam said as quoted by Stadium Astro.
“The doctors and the medical team have confirmed that he will need more time to recover.”
The ex-ATM and Kelantan player suffered an injury to his knee during pre-season this year. He recovered from it in April but suffered a reoccurring injury to the same knee later on.
