Perak fans can expect some form of activity in the June transfer window after it was confirmed that Liberian midfielder Eric Weeks Lewis would be departing the club soon.
Indonesian side Madura United FC have confirmed that they’ve secured Eric’s signature, claiming that he’ll be officially joining the squad on the 24th of May.

The move comes as a surprise, considering that Eric has been a regular fixture in Perak’s midfield this year. He’s formed a decent partnership with Beto in the middle of the park and was sporadically used as a makeshift winger at certain points.
That said, the Liberian was actually a last-gasp signing after FAM deemed Uzbek midfielder Oybek Kilichev ineligible to play in the MSL. FAM rules state that foreigners from Asian leagues must come directly from first division clubs – while Oybek signed for Perak after making three appearances in the Iranian second division.
Eric’s departure will only intensity transfer rumours that have been associated with Perak. Ex-Pahang player Dickson Nwakaeme has been linked with a move, though Perak’s financial limitations seems to dilute the validity of this rumour.
