PKNS FC team manager Mahfizul Rusydin Abdul Rashid has announced that the players will still get a reward despite losing to Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
“The management team have approved the incentive for the players because they have worked extremely hard to get their way to the final,” Mahfizul said as quoted by Sinar Harian.
“We had never expected to qualify for the biggest game of our lives against the best team.
“We lost the match but I think we played with heart and did not give up until the end.
Mahfizul has told his players to move on from the FA Cup disappointment and focus on qualifying for the Malaysia Cup when they face DRB Hicom at the Proton Stadium tomorrow.
“The FA Cup is over and we have to fight for a win tomorrow for a Malaysia Cup spot.”
The top 11 teams from the Malaysia Super League (MSL) as well as the top five teams from the Malaysia Premier League (MPL) qualify for the Malaysia Cup competition.
PKNS FC are currently in fifth place in the league, one ahead of DRB Hicom.
