Cops on high alert as security level for FA Cup final is increased

To those who will be watching the FA Cup final between Johor Darul Ta’azim and PKNS at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday are required to go through three layers of security checks.

There will be over 1400 police officers on duty to ensure the safety of the public and will be aided by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) enforcement unit as well as security agencies.

“The security at all points will be increased and will perform strict measures such as physical inspections and the placement of K9 units to prevent dangerous items inside the stadium,” Shah Alam OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said as quoted by Sinar Harian.

“We will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of the crowd throughout the day.

Shafien Mamat also said that the gates (A for PKNS, C & D for JDT) will be opened at 4pm and encouraged the supporters to leave as early as possible to avoid being delayed in traffic.

“The fans are advised not to park their vehicles at the side of the road.

“The Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) will also be placed at the stadium to prevent supporters with fake tickets from entering the stadium,” he concluded.
