With tensions running high ahead of the second leg clash between Johor DT and Felda United, the away side’s training session in Johor Bahru was invaded by a group of Johor DT fans.
These particular group went on to light flares and raise banners that contained messages that were derogatory in nature. Insulting chants were also directed towards those players, in a bid to provoke and instigate fear in them.
The situation escalated pretty quickly, so police officers were called to the scene, upon which the group immediately dispersed.
“When they were training prior to the first leg, none of our fans disrupted them in any way,” a disappointed Irfan Bakti told Utusan Online.
“But our players are experienced and well disciplined, which is why none of them reacted to the insulting chants that were directed at them. They know how to handle it.” Irfan added.
The match will take place on Saturday, with kick off slated for 8.45pm.
