The FIM World Superbike Championship will continue its 3rd round this weekend at the Aragon Racing Circuit in Spain, the same circuit that Muhammad Zulfahmi Khairuddin has been racing on since 2010, throughout his Moto3 days.
According to the man himself, experience gained over the past 6 years will boost his confidence ahead of this weekend, as his knowledge about the 5km long track with 17 corners will allow him to plan his race in advance.
“The biggest advantage that I have with me is the experience I’ve had on the track ever since I raced on it when I was competing in the Moto3 World Championships. I am going into the race with a positive mindset and I actually can’t wait for the race to commence,” the 25-year old told Sinar Harian.
Zulfahmi, who is currently racing with the Orelac Racing VerdNatura team, made the switch to the 600cc Kawasaki ZX-6R motorbike after completing 103 races and two podium finishes in Moto3, which increased the difficulty of him getting used to the Kawasaki.
However, the Selangor-born racer claims his compatibility with the Kawasaki bike is improving with every race.
“I am becoming more comfortable with the 600cc Kawasaki motorbike, but there’s still plenty of room for me to improve my performance,” he added.
Zulfahmi is currently 11th on the overall standings, having acquired 12 points from his first two races.
