Erik Lamela has arguably produced one of the best goals of the year so far, with a sensational ‘rabona’ strike in Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-1 victory over Asteras Tripolis.
The Argentinean flanker is still trying to reproduce the form that once allowed him to be touted as one of the brightest talents in the game, but this particular goal is certainly a step in the right direction.
Spurs were 1-0 up in the game, before Lamela produced the stunner; wrapping his left leg around his right, before pulling the trigger with so much of power and precision.
According to Harry Kane, who was the hat-rick hero of the day, Lamela produces such goals on a regular basis in their training sessions. If he continued to head on this trajectory, Spurs could very well have an exciting attacking outlet at their disposal on a consistent basis.
