What was supposed to be a delightful atmosphere within the Signal Iduna Park after Borussia Dortmund’s win against Maiz, turned out to be a rather touching one.
A Dortmund fan suffered a heart-attack during the first half of the fixture and succumbed to it, shortly thereafter
The incident sent shockwaves around the stadium and while the match continued, there was an eerie silence throughout the ground.
But during the final 60 seconds of the game, fans within the stadium rendered the famous “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem as a tribute for the spectator who passed away. Even the away fans shoved their differences aside to join the Dortmund fans in paying tribute to the spectator.
Check of the video of fans singing YNWA below. If this doesn’t make you feel warm, nothing will!

Dortmund beat Mainz 2:0 but occurrences like this make football and associated rivalries seem trivial indeed. Well played @bvb fans.
